POA Notarisations/ attestations – For use outside the UAE

Traditionally speaking, we have always assisted in supporting clients with requirements relating to services being conducted within the UAE. We do however also receive enquiries from clients who need help with the notarisation and/or legalisation of documents (including Power of Attorneys!) for use OUTSIDE of the UAE.

Let’s say you wish to issue Power of Attorney to your realtor in Spain to represent you to complete a sales or purchase transaction there, or perhaps you want to give authority to someone in Armenia to manage a company for you when you are based overseas, or alternatively maybe you need to appoint an overseas partner or associate to assist you with the liquidation of a company in Kazakhstan or to assign lawyers to handle a legal case in China on your behalf. In such circumstances, we can also assist.

The above examples are in fact real-life cases we have worked on recently for other clients. For these types of matters, there are often a number of different steps to complete before the required documents can be used outside of the UAE.

This includes the drafting and legal translation of the relevant paperwork but also the notarisation AND the additional legalisation stamping requirements from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant consulate or embassy. The process can be tedious and time-consuming if you do not have the experience, know-how or local network.

How does it work in practice?

At Your POA, we are always available to take your call, to outline any specific requests that you might have and to ensure we understand what is needed – before we take any payment from you. Simply clicking “buy now” on a webpage is not something we feel is in the best interest of our clients.

So please give us a call! Provide a quick summary of what you require (if you aren’t sure, our specialist team can guide you on this also!) and someone will get back to you within the same day to discuss your requirements and to provide a simple overview of the process, costs and timelines!
